Fight Foods and Beers?

15-Apr-08 23:30
What do you guys put together to munch on for a fight your watching at home? A lot of guys do the traditional pizza and wins, but I try to be more creative. Usually, my beer will match the nationality of the fighter, when possible. I definitely prefer when fighters from Europe and South America are fighting!

Food, I’m not as picky with. I usually make a pot of Jambalaya with some spicy andouille sausage and okra. I add chicken and shrimp most of the time.

A beer-butt chicken will be in the oven as well. Take a medium sized chicken poke it with a fork all over. Rub garlic, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon all over it the night before. Shove an open can of beer (your choice of beer) up the arse and stand it up on its legs. The can will support it. Then put it on the oven at 350 for about two hours. It will be the juiciest chicken you’ve ever had.

For a Polish fight I’d recommend Okocim or Zywiec.

An Asian fight is best with Sapporo or Asahi.

Mexican fights I like Tecate, Negra Modelo, or Pacifico

Central or South American (yes, sometimes I generalize a whole continent) fights are nicely complimented by Brahma, Pilsen. or Presidente

Irish fights usually see me drinking Guinness, but if I could get it in the states I’d drink Kilkenny.

I was loving the Boddington’s for PBF-Hatton and had some Newcastle as well.

Throw some suggestions at me boys. I’m always looking for a new boxing night beer.
