Sorry to rain on your party but Lennox was born in West Ham, London (In UK) :O)
He moved over the water when he was 12 and took up boxing because the locals took the p*ss out of his accent... He moved back home the second he turned pro. He fought under the British Flag and he declared he had always considered himself British.....

Lennox learned to box in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and won a super-heavyweight gold medal for Canada in the 1988 Olympics before returning to the UK. I believe that without a doubt he qualifies as both a Canadian and British boxer.

True. Lewis is both British & Canadian. He won a Gold Medal for Canada so that counts for a lot. And I'm a fellow Londoner (& West Ham fan) who was at Lewis's first AND last pro figts! Funnily enough, he considers himself Jamaican first & foremost!

THe LENNOX LEWIS story Canadian & English boxer! It always amazes me when ever, Lennox Lewis is mentioned as a great Canadian boxer, there is always a crowd of British boxing fans that shout out how Lennox was born in London. Lennox is not the only one, there were a number of us over the years that were born in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland and became a boxer in Canada. That makes us all Canadian Boxers, for any British boxing fan to attempt to minimize this fact is on the dumb side of dumber. I'm sure if Lennox was just a "ham & egger" as a pro, some of those starry eyed British fans would not be so quick to hightlight "the Lewis of London" card.

How come no one mentions Eddie Wenstob, the Viking Cowboy? One of the best Canadian fighters ever! And here's a shout out to his son Gary.

I looked it up, Eddie Wenstob was a very good heavyweight from Western Canada many years ago.
