Hey Folks!
I thought I would post something about the up coming British superfight between David Haye and John Ruiz, because I for one am VERY excited about it!
I will be travelling up to Manchester to watch it and would love nothing more then a Haye KO, but part of me feels like it's going to be harder then many people are thinking....I hope im proved wrong on this occasion.
I do think Haye will win, and probably by KO between 3rd-7th rounds, but I think it will get much more dangerous for him in the later rounds if he doesn't get Ruiz out of there beforehand. Ruiz' resume has got far more world class opponents on it then Haye's and he's got much more 12 round fighting experience. He could wear Haye down if he manages nullify his attack and gets close to Haye.
I think the key for Haye in this fight, like against Valuev, will still be his speed and footwork. His footwork and speed will get him into ideal positions to throw his trademaker shots, and John Ruiz will be easier to hit then the 7 foot giant! I think Haye's got the skills and ability to do it if he focuses early on.
What dya guys think?

Haye is gona be too quick, and when he connects Ruiz is gona know all about it. An early KO would be impressive, Ruiz doesn't get done early too much. I'd say Haye will get him somewhere 4-6 once he finds his range...

I am going to stick my kneck out on this one.....

I see Haye comming in a few pounds more this time as he grows slowly into the weight without effecting his speed. I think he will have more power than we have seen before closer to a 16 stone full blood heavy. (and still growing)

I see him not going sh*t or bust like he did as a kid again CarlT' but he will be looking to drop some massive bombs very early on and send a message around the world by blowing him away very early.

I know Ruiz has got a good chin but Tua caught him cold and I recon Haye will test his chin in the first 2/3 rounds.

If he does not get him out of there I think he will take a breather and settle down and try and grind him out in the mid late rounds. I agree with other post, if Ruiz is still there in the 10+ rounds he will be a threat down the homestraight.

However...... I go back to my early prediction he gets caught cold early in round 1/2 and gets smashed. I think a lot of people forget the moment when a tiny Roy J rattled Ruiz in the first round to the point where it put him off comming in close for the whole fight. Haye bangs a dam sight harder. Should be great fight !!

iu agree with most of the comments , haye will be too fast and to ambishous ? his speed and power will win the fight plus he is a newly wba champ and likes the feeling and dnt think he will mess that up and also wants to unify the heavyweight devision and take out thoses 2 lanky bums in the kilts and i think in 2 years time he will own all the belts end of

Yeah cestrian i had the same idea..so put a load of money on the first 3 rounds..and thought the money was in the bag after haye landed with his first right hand....sadly it took him another eight rounds but made the fight more interesting at least.

Marra - you sound like a bloke who can call a fight.... A man who knows his boxing !

How do you think Haye will fair against the K' brothers.... Do you think he will continue to grow bigger that 16stone ??

I think haye will continue to put weight on as long as he and adam think he is comfortable and it doesn't begin to restrict his movement, i think 16 stone dead or just over will be where he will stop. i think he'll plan on not getting hit much rather than bulk up to take shots...at the end of the day no matter what size he is he already has the power to knock any heavyweight out and if he gets hit with big clean shots from either brother he going down himself no matter what weight he is.

If he fights Vlad then i think he'll take him late on, as vlad will cautious the whole fight but i think haye could open him up with the faster hands. Vitali will go all the way if haye manages to stay away from his jab, i can't see haye knocking vitali out lennox couldn't and he hit him with some big shots, i think haye might have to do the same thing to vitali as he did with valuev..in land a couple...get out.

but whatever happens at least it will more entertaining than watching the brothers usual mundane bore fest

Marra, I agree with you. I can't see Haye getting anything above 16st and would be shocked if he did. He knows that he HAS to retain his speed if he has a chance, his hand speed and footwork are his two biggest weapons along with his obvious power. I think as long as Haye picks his shots carefully, keeps moving away from Wlad's right hand then he has every chance of a mid - late round stoppage. Haye counters the jab beautifully with that almighty right hand, and as long as he doesn't take shots and improves his defence from what it was against Ruiz, I think he will take out Wlad. It will be much harder to knock out Vitali, although I think he's probably easier to hit with him not being as gun shy and holding his left hand much lower...he just seems to have an iron set of whiskers!
Haye is an absolute breath of fresh air for boxing...hard hitting, fast, confident and well spoken Champ! I'll be there for his next fight aswell.
Peace.

Luke/Marra you both make good points. I think 16, 16,2 stone perhaps in a year or so is where he will peak.

I know Lenox Lewis was a bigger guy but its intresting to here him in a interview a few months after fighting Vitali - He said if he was to have a rematch he would of come in lighter so he was quicker and more mobile. I think your both right Haye will never match him in size so he needs to play to his strength which is moving like a light heavy.

Vitali has got a great chin but even his can be stung - I only watched the fight the other day - Corry sanders V Vitali (its up on youtube) first 3 rounds Sanders wobbled the big guy. Sander came in over a stone heavier than when he smashed Wlad and look out of shape and just could not keep it going, but I think there is the blue print to cause him some problems.

On another note what do people think of Haye getting out after 4 more fights ??

That would make him a young 30/31. I am always on here banging on at fighters to go when they have gone on to long but thats very young for a heavy and in my opinion he will just be reaching his peak.

Cestrian...I'm with you on that one...haye say he's out of the game after 4 more fights in two years, hoping to retire rich and still able to speak without a slur (so he says). I'd like to see him carry on if he manages to unify the belts as i think he can only really have a legacy if he defends the belts. Haye may think that once he has beaten the K brothers then he's beaten the best out there so why fight anyone else. At this moment in time he's probably right, but maybe someone might come through the ranks by the time he's got the belts.

Who knows maybe Fraudly "A-Farce" Harrison might beat him with one arm..lol

Haye got to get past David Tua firsth before he can fight the Klitschkos

Tua is not ranked in the top ten by the Big 3. So why would he have to get passed him ?

I am a Tua fan but he has not beaten a good fighter in years... I do think he is back on track now but he has got to fight a top ten fighter. A good bit of match making (somone who like to trade and not a slick boxer with high work rate) and he would be straight back in there.

I still believe The Klits will jab Haye's face to mince meat. His low guard is tailor made. I have doubts about Haye's stamina and believe either Klit will get the KO late. Haye definitely could upset Wlad with a punchers chance. But no chance against Vitali.

I think Tua has 2 more fights on a TV contract 'Down Under'. Then he can make 1 last run for a belt. Haye v Tua would be an interesting spectacle IMO.

Someone said at least Haye would add more interest to the usual Mundane Klit fights. Don't forget that Haye was involved in the worst ever fight (v Valuev). Smart tactics, entertaining not.

I don't dislike Haye, he has brought a little bit of interest back to the division, but I'm no fanboy either.

I AM INCLINED TO GO WITH 007 ON THIS ONE. BUT NOT ENTIRELY. I BELEIVE HAYE IS TOO QUCK FOR WLAD AND WILL K.O. HIM IN SPECTACULAR FASHION. REMEMBER COREY SANDERS DESTRUCTION ON WLADS CHIN? HOWEVER IF HE FIGHTS VITALI-WHO WE ALL KNOW CAN BE A BIT MECHANICAL IN THE RING. I BELEIVE VIT HAS A GOOD PUCH RESISTANCE AND A GREAT JAB. ALSO I BELEIVE HE COULD DRAG HAYE AROUND TOO MUCH BY BEING THE MUCH STRONGER OF THE TWO. IT WOULDNT BE GOOD TO WATCH BUT I HOPE I AM WRONG AND HAYE BLASTS BOTH THE KLITS. AS FOR DAVID TUA? FORGET IT!
