I saw the fight, I donot think that Cortez did any favours to hatton but the inescapable fact is that Hatton was from a boxing perspective outclassed and out gunned. It is obvious that Hatton is a light welter and Mayweather is a true welter. Regarding Calzaghe I see a different story he has answered all the quwestions and has none to answer. I do not think Hopkins will live with him.

hatton v mayweather and calzaghe v hopkins are two totally different fights. Joe will be better suited to the weight, he will be a LOT harder to hit, and he will throw very fast combinations from all angles.

I think it will be a tremendous fight. Can Hopkins live with a guy who has amazing stamina, a wicked chin and throws 5 and 6 punch combos in the blink of an eye? Can he do enough in return?

Joe won't have fought anyone as slippery and clever as Hopkins, so can he land enough to do serious damage?

I still think Bhop is world class even at 42, and Joe most definitely is so this is a fight to savour. I hear it's almost a done deal, so let's hope they sign on the dotted line...

In the last four years BHOP has only stopped one person – De La Hoya, a former Super Featherweight. Can he win it on the scorecards by ‘slipping and sliding’ for twelve rounds against Calzaghe?

I don't think we should under-estimate Hopkins additional power at the heavier weight. He stopped Tarver and Wright in their tracks when he did decide to throw some leather.
It's his punch output which is his biggest problem. As we saw with Lacy and 2nd half of Kessler fight, if you don't throw many punches Joe will be all over you

Still, no-one thought Mayweather could compete with Hatton on the inside and out-grapple him did they?

Joe Cortez absolutey ruined the fight  He is a totally biased and  unfair official
I personally think his referees license ought to be revoked immediately.  If you require further proof of Cortez  bias  watch a tape of John Ruiz-Kirk Johnson.Let let ruiz get away with murder practically while calling every body shot johnson threw  LOW  Just because ruiz whined  he couldnt possibly have seen them for himself if hecalled them low
CORTEZ  MUST  GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I agree that Cortez made mistakes and was poor there were other issues that concerned me: The size of the ring would Hatton not have benefitted from a smaller ring? Had the fight gone the distance the judges scorecards would have been apalling it is not often that a fight of this calibre has all local judges especially when one of the fighters (mayweather) is a local himself. Was no one advising team Hatton on these matters.
