Topic: Has Warren signed Prescott?

Is there any truth to the rumours that Warren has signed Prescott?

wardstar (55 Posts) on Mon 15-Sep-2008:

I'll guarantee that Frank Warren will have some sort of promotional control now over Bredis Prescott following his blowout of Khan. I dont no for certain but watching how Frank Warren operates for 20 years i'll bet both my **** that Warren will now be guiding his carrear in some capacity. Frank Warren is a very savvy/sly/slimey businesman who will have covered all bases with reguard to Prescott in the eventuality that he actually beat his golden boy so dont be suprised to see Prescot fighting on sky sports in the near future. Peace.

Yes Frank Warren has "options" on Prescott, this is normal practice within the boxing world.

So he not savy/slimy as you suggest

wardstar (55 Posts) on Sun 5-Oct-2008:

Very true, options are a part of boxing contracts, sometimes to the point of a fighter having to sell his soul to get a big fight. Very true Frank warren is a very savy businesman in terms of making money (for himself), he is also good at keeping his fighters well protected and undefeted (Amir Khan aside) (apoligies for spelling!) and he's pretty good at the art or promotion, but Frank Warren is as slimey as a bucket of frogspawn. The man wears his soul on his face, he's Don Kings white doppleganger and now  he's being found out for what he really is - a good promoter but as sneaky as a **** weasle. He should run next time for mayor of London!

If Warren has Prescott (or even if he doesn't), it would be good to see a re-match with Khan next year to really see if Khan has what it takes.

Although Khan has a weak chin if he can learn to fight as a pro instead of an amateur, i.e. learn to defend, move, counter and take his time over 10 rounds, I think he's big enough to be a threat.

Would be great to see Amir Khan in a rematch with Bredis Prescott, but honestly, i cant see it anytime soon. I hope and believe Amir will come back and be a sucesess. Hopefully Prescot will win a title and fancy his chances of earning good money for an easy defence against Khan and then Amir can return the favour of an early KO to him.
On the subject of Prescott, it appears Frank Warren may not be the only person to have him under contract, German promotors Arena Box also claim to have him under contract, will be interesting to see were this leaves Prescott himself, cos if a legal dispute ensues between the two it could prevent him from boxing which would be a crying shame. So i hope for the boxers sake its sorted out soon.
