fair comment mate i think you can say but you could always come from another angle and have a complete different view, take for example not seein floyd face messed up coz he dont let it he only hits when he can make the punch count while keeping safe. if you look at the cotto pacquiao fight when cotto moved and boxed he had pacman frustrated and caught him with good shots. i feel if roach can come up with a new game plan they can frustratr and beat floyd but as it stands a big great man bats a great small man ricky hatton was good cotto was but floyd is great and unlike with cotto if this fight comes off floyd will want the ball in his court so no catch weight it would be full on welter and i just cant see pacquiao pulling it off.

Floyd vs Manny will never happen, neither manny nor Bob Arum want to ever have to deal with this infant ever again, the guy is really more trouble than his worth, which was oviously the case the last time.....Foot in mouth

I think Floyd Mayweather Jr will be afraid of Manny Pacquiao.  To speak the truth, Manny has both speed and power that Floyd never found on all those guys whom he has beaten.

In addition, Manny also has endurance and agility. Manny is a smart fighter. He is a complete fighter.

From which point Floyd can win?
Floyd probably will try to outbox Manny.
As usual, Floyd like to hit but do not like to be hit.
He will hit and run, then hit and clinch and then grab and run and once a while with sudden long distance power shoot (straight).

However, Manny has speed.  He can not be outboxed.

End conclusion is that Floyd will never have guts to fight Manny. Now the fight negotiation was cancelled because of drugs testing,...next time it's going to be cancelled again because of the payment negotiation

I think Floyd should fight Laila Ali  :)

Forget the soap operea type will they won't they bs, Mayweather Vs Pacman will happen this summer, the deal was done a while ago, all the drug testing, mud slinging, ass suing muppet show is just pure promotion, ensuring they can squeeeze as much hard cash out of the paying public. Don't believe the hype, this fight will happen. Prediction, Pacman KO 11 or 12.

Mayweather disrespected the fans. He is egocentric!
I will not spend my hard-earned money to support
his delusions. Boycott his PPV on May 1st.

ok yes it would be the biggest fight in history in my eyes , just like the mike tyson and frank bruno fight, in my eyes dnt get me wrong manny is one of the best fighters in the world ever, his spped, power and skill for a little man is a myth to me and he destroyed and ended oscar del , he knocked the s**t out of hutton and that was a bit of a shock for me and cooto even worse i thought cotto would be the one to stop him but i was way wrong, clottley is bigger but he had no chance, but mayweather is in a different league im afraid , he is just as fast, just as powerfull, but has more skill and moves his head quicker and has a exellent block rate and all thought manny will be comeing in with lots of puches and comanations mayweather will duck, weave and block then , and as he is fast himself will get through and pip manny on the face and thats how he will win

By far Mayweahter's his toughest opponent to date will be Mosley. If Mayweather beats Mosley, then he destroys Pac-Man!  Heck!  If Paul Williams ever moved up, he would be a tougher outing for May over Pac-Man.

Pac has a ton of skill, but has been helped by fightiing one-dimensional (Cotto) or over-matched (Hatton) opponents!  Folks that are on his band wagon, need to go back and look at his controversial victories and the close call decisions that went in his favor, to get a more realistic of his overall talent.

FLOYD WILL GET A CONTROVERSIAL SPLIT COZ HE WONT ARRIVE MANO A MANO TO FIGHT MOSLEY. IF NOT SUGAR SHANE IS GONNA BUST HIM INTO HIS HIP-HOP RETIREMENT HOME TO CONCENTRATE ON HIS RECORD LABEL. WILL HIS CAREER RECORD READ 50-1. AS TALENTED AS HE IS? I SURE HOPE SO. WILLIAMS TO FIGHT THE WINNER.

First let me say I like both PBF and Manny! Now, that being said, I believe PBF will beat Manny because of his superior boxing skills. I watched closely as Mannny struggled in two epic battles with JMM and then watched as PBF destroyed JMM. I honestly can't see Manny fairing much better. PBF will beat SSM in a decent fight and then destroy Manny!

I CAN SEE YOUR POINT PANTHER, BUT JMM WAS A LONG TIME AGO AND DEEP DOWN FLOYD KNOWS IT WILL BE AN INTERESTING FIGHT WITH MOSELY! CERTAINLY ON THE SCORECARDS. REGARDING MANNY HE HAS CONTINUED TO LEARN MORE FROM FREDDIE AND GOT STRONGER SINCE THE LAST JMM FIGHT. FLOYD REACHED HIS PEAK 2 YEARS AGO AND HE KNOWS IT. MANNY HAS GOT THE HUNGER OF SOMEONE FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE, AND FLOYD-HIS BANK BALANCE. HOWEVER I DONT THINK WE WILL SEE FLOYD AND MANNY IN THE RING. POLITICS MESSING UP THIS SPORT AGAIN? WITH A HINT OF FLOYD SEEING MANNY RISE TO THE TOP AND FEAR MAKIN FLOYD THINK TWICE! THE WHOLE OF THE BOXING WORLD KNOWS THIS-AS DOES FLOYD.

Just want to comment on some of the later posts. The outcome of this fight would all depend on what catch weight was agreed upon and if any cash penalties where invovled if any fighter came in heavier than the agreed weight. I have posted before that Mayweather picks his recent fights on his terms and they always favour him in some way (probable exception to this the mosley fight). With this in mind i don't think you can gauge the outcome form the JMM fights with mayweather and manny as Manny fought JMM at 130lbs almost 3 weight divisions below the agreed catch weight of 144lbs that mayweather fought JMM. And just add highlight that more don't forget mayweather decided to ignore the weight limit and weight in at 146lbs to JMM's 142lbs and rumour has it that he actually came into the fight around 150lbs +, that almost 4 weight divisions above the manny fight a and 3 weight division than any fight JMM has fought at, and he still couldn't knock JMM out.

therefore If a catch weight could be agreed around 140 - 145lbs and there is no get out clause if you don't meet the weight then i think Manny would edge the fight, even with Floyd's incredible defense.
I think floyd would be surprised at just how fast and powerful the little man is.

MARRA - I 100PERCENT AGREE. YOU KNOW YOUR HISTORY. FLOYDS DEFENCE IS TOP NOTCH. BUT MANNY WOULD EXPOSE THIS. I KNOW IT, U KNOW IT MANNY KNOWS IT . BUT I DOUBT WE WILL SEE IT COZ PRETTY BOY-AS TALENTED AS HE IS-IS RUNNIN SCARED. FREDDIE ROACH GOT HIM ON CHECKMATE!

MARRA, CESTRIAN AND BEARCAT. HOW U DOING. JUST LIKE 2 HEAR YOUR PREDICTIONS 4 THE MOSLEY-MAYWEATHER FIGHT? I GO 4 A SUGAR SHANE TKO BETWEEN  9-12. HE GOT A LOT MORE EXPEIRIENCE AND I BELEIVE HE IS ALOT STRONGER AND WILL FORCE FLOYD INTO PLAN B. WHICH I THINK WILL DECIDE THE FIGHT. ONLY A WEEK 2 GO. HOW DO U GUYS THINK IT WILL GO?

Just gonna give my prediction on the Mayweather vs Mosley fight. Firstly i think this fight has come about 2 or 3 years to late for Mosley. Mosley struggles with top boxers with speed who can jab and move all night long like Mayweather can (as do 99% of fighters), as i think he prefers fighters to walk onto him so he can unload his power shots (ala Magarito, Mayorga ect).
I think the blueprint to beat Mosley was shown by Vernon Forrest, set him up with the jab & beat him to the punch with power shots and make him think twice, the same again with Winky Wright. I don't think Mayweather has the strength or power to do this in the same way i think he will total neutralise Mosley with the jab and and then speedily hen peck his way with every punch in the book, and then some, to a wide UD. Mayweather is as cunning as a fox and fast as lightening and i think the only way to beat him is to constantly and relentlessly pressure him or terrarise him for 12 rounds with out getting knocked out or stopped (i know, it's a huge task)and break his heart, make him trade when he's tired and knock him out, cos if he gets clipped he'll go, trust me. I don't believe Mosley can do this. Prediction Mayweather UD 118 - 110.

118-110 IS ABOUT AN AVERAGE MAYWEATHER VICTORY-EXCLUDING K.O.S OF COURSE. BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT SHANE WILL TAKE THE FIGHT TO FLOYD AND IF HE CAN UNSETTLE HIM IN THE 1ST THIRD OF THE FIGHT FLOYD COULD BE PUT OUT OF HIS ALL TOO FAMILIAR COMFORT ZONE. HOWEVER I GO 4 SHANE IN THE LAST 2-3 ROUNDS. HOW SWEET WOULD THAT BE?

Thats the point i'm making Del Boy i think this fight will go the same way as 90% of Maywethers exibitions. Most of me wants Mosley to win but with his history of being a drugs cheat, and Mayweather coming out with statements like 'i'm better than Ali' i don't really care who wins. I just hope its a competative fight for the fans that shell out $$$'s to watch it.

DITTO MY MAN! DEEP DOWN I WANT MOSELY TO SHUT UP THE SELF PROCLAIMED GREATEST EVER BOXER. LIKE TO HERE HIS EXCUSES TO LARRY MERCANT ETC. AND SEE MOSELY FIGHT MANNY. BUT I AM LETTING MY HEART RULE MY HEAD HERE. SHANE JUST GONNA HAVE TO CHASE HIM ALL NIGHT, BUT HE IS IN GREAT SHAPE. BOXING FANS AND THEIR PEERS CAN DECIDE WHOS THE GREATEST. NOT JUST PRETTY BOYS WHO DANCE AND ARE SURROUNDED BY THIRD RATE HIP-HOP ARTISTS. SHOULD BE A GREAT FIGHT THOUGH. LATER WARDSTAR.

DEL, WARDSTAR....I'm in total agreement, my heart wants mosley to spark him out but my head says mayfeather will do what he does best and thats win on points. Like you guys have already said mosley needs to go after Floyd pin him down and to be honest he could pull it off, even if mosley takes a few shots on the counter to get close he's not going to go down as he has a solid chin and can take the punishment to get his chance of landing some big blows on floyd.....we all know how floyd will fight but it will be entirely up to mosley to force the issue...who knows judges seemed to be favouring the more agressive fighthers these days he may get lucky.

But its worth a bet ...mosley is 18-1 to KO mayfeather in the last 3 rounds.

DEL, I don't think we were wrong we wanted Mosley to win but to be honest never actually thought he would, our heads told us mayweather would win on points (thou i did think it would have been closer) but we just hoped mosley might find something to take him out and he almost did, mayweather was seeing stars in the second. As much i dislike mayweather for his ego i have to admit he outclassed mosley and for the first time since he beat Corley and Gatti he actually went for mosley offensively, and late on dare i suggest even out powered him. Yes mosley is 38 and looked very tired after 7 rounds but you have to hand it to mayweather he was absolutly brilliant. I think a Manny Vs Mayweather fight could possibly be one of the great fights, and would not even begin to pretend to give a prediction.

if it happens. i cant think of a more close call of a fight. 50/50 in almost every way. so i will reserve judgement on the out come(in my opinion) when or if it happens. the balls in MANNYS court now. So takin the test would let the fight happen, and i think we would talkin about it in the same breath as any SUPERFIGHT from any generation.

People bring up comparrsment with Pac vs marquez and Mayweather vs Marquez. Manny has improved greatly since those fights just ask Hatton,Cotto and Delahoya. This is like saying Pacquiao Ko's Floyd because Castillo beat Floyd. Both have improved since then

Floyd is MUCH more of a complete fighter. Pacquaio's speed, movement and power will make it interesting and he has a chance of a KO early if he catches Floyd clean and often, but if not it will be a close-ish UD for Money. He will take a few rounds to adapt then that lead right hand will punish the Pacman.

Remember, he is the OPPOSITE of the fighters that Manny has looked so spectacular against, he will not plod forward waiting to get hit like De La Hoya, Hatton, Diaz, Cotto AND Clottey!! Pacman has not convinced me against pure boxers, and Floyd is the purest of the pure. Unanimous decision.

Great thread guys - Some valid comments.

I think Pacman & Freddie will look at the fight the other night and see round 2 as a blue print for how he "could win" Ko early although I think he will also look at it and see how he could also lose it over the 12.

Pac wont tire like Mosley but FM works fighters out and ajusts his boxing... Like its been said on here Pacman does not look his best against pure boxers.

I do think Pacman is faster than Mosley and will catch FM early, and ask more questions than the other night. Its not the power of the punches its the ones you dont see comming you cannot ride or brace yourself for that do most of the damage. I can see a stopage inside 5 rounds.... although..... That could be my Heart/Head like Marra said.

I think Oscar showed the blue print to beating "Money". For the 1st seven rounds Oscar jabbed to Money's left shoulder. At times the stick was hard enough to turn Mayweather just enough that ODLH could connect with a power punch to his head. If Oscar didn't abandon his jab he could have won that fight. This being said I think Pacquio is too small and would lose to Flyod. It will take a good tall fighter to beat him. Someone like Paul Williams has a good chance and another is (I forget his name) but he just destroyed Pavlik. Money can be beat but by who?

PBF Mayweather is the BEST right now!

Until Paul Williams moves to Welterweight, then we just witnessed the two best fighters in the division with Mayweather versus Mosley, and Mayweather is clearly superior.

Paquio has slim to no chance of beating Mayweather, based upon their respective styles and size.  This fight will happen, but it will be about as competitive as most of Mayweather's fights (Not Very!)

Bottom line is that PBF is the best there is at this time.  The fight (and victory over) Paquio will only enhance his legacy.  If he's smart, he retires after that fight, and there is an agruement for him being one of the best ever.

If he wants to silence all the critics once and for all (regarding being one of the best ever), he fights on and beats Sergio and/or Paul Williams.  These two boxers will cleary have physical attributes in their favor, so this will be very tough for him.

Only time will tell...Until then, PBF will continue to be a polarizing figure.

Well it looks like pac n floyd are gonna fight coz manny has agreed to the 14day testing window. But now floyd wants the testing right up to the fight!! How many more "DEMANDS" is this talented prick gonna come up with b4 he finally gets in the ring with manny. This proves to the world of boxing that he is scared to face manny. He has continued to move the goalposts in his favour too much and even if he does beat manny, his "LEGACY" will be tarnished and the accusations against pac will not be forgotten. I used to be a fan of floyds? But now i live in the hope that MANNY WILL KNOCK HIS HEAD OFF!! Enjoy the fight.............if it happens?

Trust me this fight will happen Del boy, initially i believed it would happen this summer in Vegas but it's now looking like it's gonna happen in November, again in Vegas (although if it where to happen in Dallas it could and probly would break modern attendance records by a mile). Mayweather's a great, great fighter, but he lives on another plannet where only he exists and if he was made of chocolate he would have ate himself along time ago, but credit where its due the guys an amazing athlete who would have been great at anything he did.

I belive though in Manny he faces someone who will give him zero respect and believe for the first time in his career Mayweather faces someone with the style, balls and chin to break his heart, someone who will put the fear of God into him and make him doubt him self, i may be wrong but i believe Manny will take an early beating, then come on strong in the last quater and drown Mayweather in leather. If Mayweather wins i'll be the  first to congratulate him, if Manny wins i'll be in the 'Money'

Now that you put it like that Wardstar i beleive that it will happen too. On my last post i was a tad dismayed on hearing floyd had changed his "demands" again, but i guess there is too much cash etc involved for it not to happen. I think if manny is to win patience is key, but if he is losing(first half of the fight)which is highly probable. he may become impatient which would possibly lead to his downfall, but i am sure Roach will have a plan. Lookin forward to it  Big TIME though. Hopefully we will both be "in the money"!
