Although I agree that Cortez made mistakes and was poor there were other issues that concerned me: The size of the ring would Hatton not have benefitted from a smaller ring? Had the fight gone the distance the judges scorecards would have been apalling it is not often that a fight of this calibre has all local judges especially when one of the fighters (mayweather) is a local himself. Was no one advising team Hatton on these matters.
I saw the fight, I donot think that Cortez did any favours to hatton but the inescapable fact is that Hatton was from a boxing perspective outclassed and out gunned. It is obvious that Hatton is a light welter and Mayweather is a true welter. Regarding Calzaghe I see a different story he has answered all the quwestions and has none to answer. I do not think Hopkins will live with him.
Thanks for the comments and keep them coming, this is part of a bigger plan it is not really a forum but a community system. We hope to rollout new functionality and enhancements that will hopefully make sense and interest you all while trying to improve the system. If after a while of bedding in and adding the new functionality and community systems you still do not like it we will listen to you and revert to a standard forum system but I hope when you see all the new functionality you will appreciate what we are trying to dobut it will take a while
Great news for british boxing, shows that the public care about the sport with Ricky hatton in 3rd place and Joe Calzaghe in first place - a bit of a bloody nose for the sponsors and broadcasters who shun the sport.
