Thought id weigh in with my two cents on this one. I agree with Squarepants. This is a fight that has to happen, the public are begging for it. You cant have a conversation about Hatton without Witters name cropping up. Witters' fought enough tough opponents in the form of Harris, N'Dou, Judah, Kotelnik, Corely to deserve to talk the way he does about Hatton. Hattons legacy will be damaged if this fight never happens, people will always remember that he ducked Witter. I think that Witter has his number but would love to be proved wrong. If Hatton claims to be the peoples champ he should give the people the fight they want to see
Yeah Joes father was instrumental. An absolute inspiration he was. I feel Bernard let himself down afterwards as well, it was almost like he was claiming victory on the basis of his first round knockdown, if only he fought half as well as he argues...
Aye you might be on to a point about warren using him as cannon fodder for Haye it would generate alotof goodwillfor him, think alot of people would like to see harrison on his bum again. and why else would warren even want to touch Audley, his stock is so low. Yeah its def too late in his career for a title, could maybe do something domestically but dont think i could sit through another williams - harrison fight
Yeah, hope cortez has learned from the last fight, and will only get involved when needed. Also, dont think calzaghe will be overawed by the venue, hes fought in front of hostile crowds before when he travelled to england to take on and beat Chris Eubank and Richie Woodhall in their back yards with the crowds heavily against him and fought veit in germany. Also hes used to huge crowds, think the kessler fight set an indoor event record fighting infront of 60'000 odds fans.
I just noticed who Audley Harrison, 36, is fighting at the Calzaghe-Hopkins undercard. Ed Perry, ive never heard of him, but looking at his record, hes fought before at cruiser weight so Audley will probably have significant weight advantage on him. Im just interested to know what peoples views are on the form olympic gold medalist and if anyone thinks that he has a future in the heavy weight devision
