By Paul Upham: The Australian National Boxing Hall of Fame has announced the new Inductees for the 2009 Induction Ceremony in Melbourne on Saturday night October 10.
This is the first time Inductee have been publicly announced prior to the official Induction Ceremony.
Pioneers: BILL DOHERTY
Old Timers: DAVE SMITH & HUGHIE MEHEGAN
Veterans: BOBBY SINN & CLIVE STEWART
Moderns: HENRY NISSEN & TROY WATERS
Non Participants: WILLIAM LAWLESS & JOHN McDOUGALL
Honorary Internationals: TOMMY BURNS
Also in 2009, it will be the first time an ANBHOF Inductee will be elevated to, Legend status. Not only is it a great honour to be inducted into your sports National Hall of Fame, it is an even bigger honour to become, a Legend.
