By Paul Upham: John Hopoate is set to defend his Australian heavyweight just two months after suffering defeat at the hands of former WBC champion Oliver McCall. The 34 year-old defends his title on July 23.
According to Hopoate’s manager Dave Millward the opponent will be either Bob Mirovic or Colin Wilson and Millward insisted that his fighter is determined to bounce back in style following the loss to McCall. "Hoppa is very disappointed but he’s got a bitter determination now," Millward said.
Light-heavyweight Kerry Foley, who lost his first professional fight on his American debut against Terrance Smith last month is also set to appear on the July 23 card.
