By Paul Upham: The WBA/WBO lightweight boxing world title battle between champion Juan Manuel Marquez and challenger Michael Katsidis will proceed on Saturday 27 November 2010 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA.

The match had been put on hold after the tragic death of Katsidis’ brother Stathi on Tuesday morning in Brisbane, Australia.

In a passionate statement to the media on Friday 22 October, Katsidis declared, “The fight will go on! I will do this for Stathi, my family and myself.”

31 year-old Stathi Katsidis was a champion horse racing jockey and was found dead by his partner in his home on 19 October.

An official autopsy failed to determine the exact cause of Katsidis’s death, although suicide has been ruled out by police investigating his passing.
