By Paul Upham: Former Australian heavyweight boxing champion Colin Wilson will be looking for a repeat win over Alex Leapai on Friday night June 19 at the Southport RSL Club in Southport, Queensland, headlining a quality card presented by Jamie Myer Productions.
37 year-old Wilson 34-24-1 (20) from Emerald, Queensland won a twelve round split points decision over Leapai almost one year ago to the day.
In his last fight on March 11, Wilson drew over ten rounds with renown puncher Solomon Haumono and will use all of his experience in an attempt to nullify the knockout power of 29 year-old Leapai 15-3-2 (11) from Logan City, Queensland.
The interim WBO Oriental heavyweight title will be on the line over a twelve round distance.
Also on the card, one of Australia’s best super middleweights, 26 year-old Les Sherrington 22-5 (14), who currently holds the PABA title, will face Glen Fitzpatrick over six rounds.
