One has come to expect the most outrageous and headline catching statements from world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury whenever a tv camera and microphone is thrust in front of him, and today’s press conference in Manchester to officially announce his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko on July 9 was no exception.
The unbeaten super WBA and WBO heavyweight champ, 25-0-(18), removed his t shirt to emphasize just how out of shape he was whilst ridiculing Klitschko,64-4-(53), about not being able to beat a ‘fat man’
At today’s press conference in Manchester in Fury said: "They [legacies] don’t mean a lot to me. Boxing doesn’t mean much to me otherwise I wouldn’t go into camp four stone overweight every week having eaten every pie in Lancashire and drunk every pint in the UK.
"I hate every second of training. I hate boxing. I hate the lot. I hate speaking to all you idiots. I’d rather be at home watching television with my kids. I hate boxing but I’m just too fucking good at it and I’m making too much money to stop.
Fury added: "I wish I wasn’t a boxer, I hope (Wladimir) comes in having had a great camp, I hope he winds the clock back thirty years and I hope he puts me into next week will I? I can retire then watch the kids and get, Then me and Paris (wife) can go on lots of holidays, grow old then die as a world champion.”
Fury makes the first defence of his titles at the Manchester Arena on July, Live on Boxnation.
