David Haye and Dereck Chisora were involved in an ugly brawl at the post fight press conference following Chisora’s spirited 12 round points defeat against Vitali Klitschko in Munich, Germany on Saturday night.
The brawl started after Haye sounded off at the back of the room, in a desperate attempt to cash in on a clash with Vitali, who had soundly out-pointed Chisora an hour or two earlier.
Haye and manager Adam Booth had previously been in negotiation to fight Vitali but the Ukrainian’s business manager Bernd Boente told Haye he had his chance face the elder Klitschko brother and but blew it.
Boente told Haye from the top table “You had an offer, you didn’t accept it, now you are out. You are out. You cannot talk yourself back into the fight, you have no belts.”
At that point Chisora called out Haye, but Haye immediately dismissed that option, calling Chisora “a loser.” Chisora then left the main table and confronted Haye to his face before all hell broke loose.
After order was restored, a furious Chisora claimed Haye had ‘glassed him resulting in Chisora threatening to “shoot” Haye
Haye’s manager Adam Booth suffered a cut on the forehead and demanded to know who had inflicted the wound. Meanwhile Vitali Klitschko looked with an amusing smile on his face.
Boente added: “With the bad experience we’ve had with British fighters we will now look for other countries.”
