Kell Brook insisted he will be at his most vicious and nasty best when he faces American Carson Jones in an IBF welterweight eliminator in Sheffield on July 7th.
At a press conference to publicize the Matchroom promoted fight Brook told Sky Sports "There was a bit of needle (at the press conference.
"Those Americans can get under your skin. H:e was giving it all the talk about knocking me out in my hometown, about what he’s going to do to me. It riled me up a bit.
"With the Hatton (Matthew) fight, we both had a lot of respect for each other. I wasn’t spiteful or nasty enough in the ring.
"But this kid, Carson Jones, I don’t know him but I don’t like the kid because he came over and didn’t show any respect.
"He’s going to pay for it. I’ll be vicious and nasty, wanting to end the fight."
Brook added: "I think with this fight I need to make a statement and show everyone why people are talking about me, why I am being talked about on that top table.
"I predict a stoppage win. That’s what I’m going for - to put on a master-class and get him out of there."
