Despite being suffering a ninth round stoppage by ‘The Filipino Flash’ Nonito Donaire in Corpus Christi last weekend, Australian based Vic Darchinyan is still adamant that he has a future at world level.

Darchinyan was decked before the fight was stopped by referee Laurance Cole but the 37 year-old southpaw still believes he has a future in the sport.

“This was a tough loss,” said Darchinyan: “I knew I was beating him easy. But in my head I felt the judges were going to give it to him. I thought I needed a KO. I made the mistake of not following my corner’s advice. But in defeat I still showed the many flaws of Donaire and proved I can still compete at the top level.”
