Mikaela Laurén (27-4, 12 KOs) says she wants to deliver a knockout performance when she returns to the ring to face Szilvia Szabados (14-7, 5 KOs) on December 9 at the Rosvalla Arena in Nyköping.

The WBC World Champion Emeritus will be back in action for the first time following her loss to domestic rival Klara Svensson on September 10, and back at her preferred weight class for a six-round super welterweight clash with the 26 year-old Hungarian.

‘’I’m really looking forward to getting back in the ring and ending the year on a high,’’ said Laurén. ‘’I know it won’t be easy. Szabados is an experienced opponent, she’s had over twenty fights, and she’s never been stopped, so I see that as a challenge, and I want to be the first person to stop her.

‘’Before I fought Klara, I had stopped all four of my last opponents, and back at super welterweight, I feel stronger than ever. I don’t have to worry about what I’m eating and I can just focus on my training and having fun in the ring.

‘’Szabados’ nickname is ‘Sunset’, and when I hit her, it’s going to be lights out!’’

Laurén fights on the undercard of Erik Skoglund’s WBA International Light Heavyweight title bout with Timy Shala, which also features the Swedish Light Heavyweight Championship clash between Naim Terbunja and Sven Fornling.
