Maloney Predicts A Busy Heavyweight Year

Promotor Frank Maloney has predicted a busy year for his heavyweights starting on January 21st at the Liverpool Olympia.

Headlining the bill is unbeaten prospect David Price taking on John McDermott in a 12 round final eliminator for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.

A lively undercard will see up and coming ex-K1 fighter and undefeated heavyweight Dillian Whyte (3-0-0) from Brixton who holds a win over British Olympic heavyweight gold medal prospect Anthony Joshua.

New signing Tom Little (2-0-0) who’s just entered a three year promotional contract and is managed by former British Champion Graham Earl will make his debut under Maloney Promotions.

Also on the bill is 6’9” ‘Highlander’ Gary Cornish (4-0-0) making his first appearance outside of Scotland.

Maloney said: "I am excited about 2012 with this crop of young heavyweights under my promotional banner.

“I believe it will not be long before our stable will be controlling the British and Commonwealth, European and World Heavyweight titles. I go as far as saying this could be as early as 2013.”

Leading heavyweight prospect David Price (11-0-0) is the man Maloney has tipped to rule the world and will be moving his training camp down South for sparring where he will work with world title challenger Derek Chisora and Maloney’s other heavyweights.

Price said: "I’m learning a lot in the gym with first class sparring which is making my fight nights look easier than they are.

"We have the best up and coming heavyweight prospects so the sparring in the camp in first class. The competition in Maloney’s stable is high as everyone wants to be the best heavyweight in the world and I am confident I will get there first and bring the heavyweight world title back to Britain."

Price has just finished sparring with cruiserweight Danny Price (2-0-0) a former GB team mate who is also on the January 21st boxing card.

Danny said: "I was disappointed not to represent my country in the 2012 Olympics but I will make this a year to remember.

“it is a great help having my friend and former IBF featherweight champion Paul Ingle at ringside to motivate me.”

Third time lucky will be live on Sky Sorts HD1 on January 21st and tickets are available to buy online via www.frankmaloney.com.
