Oosthuizen Falls Off His Bicycle And Gets Dropped By Promoter

Unbeaten South African super middleweight boxer Thomas Oosthuizen has not had much luck so far this year. Not only has he sustained an injury after falling off his bicycle but has also been dropped by co promoter Rodney Berman.

Oosthuizen was to have moved up to light heavyweight to face Eleider Alvarez (13-0, 8 KOs) in an HBO-televised bout at the Bell Centre in Montreal,Canada on January 18 but Berman has finally lost his patience after Oosthuizen was reportedly over 13lbs over the light heavyweight limit and was never going to make weight to face Alvarez.

"He’s done," Berman told espn.com "He’s had so many chances and blown every one. Golden Gloves is the promoter of champions, of men of credibility, good standing and dignity. Tommy has let us all down. Fighters are meant to be role models, but he’s fallen very short."
