Former British welterweight champ Lee Purdy is looking to put in an impressive performance when he faces American Carson Jones at the Wembley Arena on March 9.
Jones is well known in the UK after giving Kell Brook all the trouble he could handle last July before losing a majority decision over 12 rounds. Purdy believes he can go one better and put in an explosive perofmance
"I was a big underdog in my last fight and I came through it with flying colours. I hope to do the same against Carson Jones," Purdy said.
"Carson Jones isn’t going to change. He is going to try to come forward and pressure me, but I think this will be a good fight to showcase my power by knocking Carson Jones out.
"It’s going to be my best performance to date, without a doubt. I want to put a big performance in."
The ’London’s Finest’ undercard features Prizefighter light-middleweight champ Larry Ekundayo, who has dropped down to welterweight.
