Irish Ropes Promotions (IRP), founded in 2005 by Eddie McLoughlin, is a full-service boxing operation headquartered in New York City at 36th W. 33rd Street, second floor.
IRP specializes in world-class boxing promotions, marketing and consulting. Its staff consists of president Eddie McLoughlin, director of boxing operations/matchmaker Jim Borzell and publicist Bob Trieger.
Irish Ropes Promotions’ first signing was "Ireland’s" John Duddy (24-0, 17 KOs), who had been working on a handshake for his entire pro career until formally signing a promotional contract with Irish Ropes in April 2006. The wildly popular Duddy, former IBA World and WBC Continental Americas middleweight champion from Derry (Ireland), now fighting out of Queens (NY), already is rated No. 2 by the World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization, No. 5 by the World Boxing Association, and No. 10 by the International Boxing Federation.
IRP’s inaugural show was held St. Patrick’s Day Eve (March 16, 2006), headlined by Duddy against Shelby Pudwell, and it marked only the second time that The Theater in Madison Square Garden sold-out for a professional boxing show.
IRP and Duddy sold-out The Theatre again on September 29, 2006 when Duddy won a 12-round decision and the vacant IBA title against former world champion Luis Ramon "Yory Boy" Campas, headlining "Shamrocks & Sombreros."

The first pay-per-view event ever promoted by Irish Ropes was held March 16, 2007, when Duddy defeated The Contender I star Anthony Bonsante by 9th-round technical decision in The Theater at Madison Square Garden before another sold-out house, headlining "Erin Go Brawl," which was broadcast live in North America on cable and satellite pay-per-view starting at 9 PM/ET and available in more than 50 million homes in North America via iN Demand, TVN, DirecTV and Dish Network in the US, as well as Viewer’s Choice in Canada, as well as to viewers outside of North America via streaming video subscription on www.secondsout.com. Two months later, Irish Ropes promoted "Tomorrow’s Champions" at the famed Beacon Theatre in New York City. Duddy headlined in a winning performance by unanimous 10-round decision against Dupre Strickland. Irish Ropes’ first promotion outside of Manhattan is scheduled for June 27, 2008 in Boston. Duddy headlines against Charles Howe in "Hassle In The Castle" at The Castle in downtown Boston. Irish Ropes is now actively recruiting boxers for its stable as Duddy closes in on a world title shot.
