Abraham Threatens To Retire

Following his fourth round stoppage defeat against Robert Stieglitz in March former world champion Arthur Abraham can understandably expect a pay cut.

But the reduction in pay has not impressed the former IBF middleweight king and has told promoter Sauerland Event as much.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Abraham said: “If Sauerland Event will not agree with my attorney, I’m not boxing. Not August 24 and not later…I don’t need to box anymore. I can retire immediately. You have to deal with an athlete fairly.”

If, Abraham and Sauerland Event can come to an agreement Abraham is scheduled to face Willberforce Shihepo in Schwerin, Germany on August 24
