Avalos Outscores Francesco In Vegas

Chris “The Hitman” Avalos (23-2, 16 KOs) scored a 10 round unanimous decision over Drian “Gintong Kamao” Francisco (24-2-1, 19 KOs) at Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas on Friday.

The bout was a very close and hard-fought bout as the 96-94, 97-93, 97-93 score indicated. Avalos won the NABO super bantamweight title.

On the undercard a clash between two undefeated light middleweights saw Glen Tapia of Passaic, N.J. score a bloody eight round stoppage win over Abie Han of El Paso, Texas. Tapia made a fast start in round one but stormed back in round two. The bout was pretty much even in rounds three and four but Han upped the pace in round five to hurt Tapia with a body shot. Tapia scored a knockdown against the now blood stained Han in round seven. The fight was stopped after round eight when Han’s corner retired him.
