The left arm injury sustained by Andre Berto on Monday has forced him to pull out of his rematch with Victor Ortiz, scheduled for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on February 11.
Berto injured the arm whilst sparring at the Ten Goose Gym in Van Nuys, California and strength and conditioning coach Victor Conte has reportedly confirmed that an MRI scan has revealed Berto sustained a ruptured left bicep whilst throwing a left hook during a sparring session. Berto is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday(Jan 31).
Promoters Golden Boy and DiBella Entertainment will look to re-schedule the bout once the extent of Berto’s injury is known.
