Following a meeting between Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum and manager Michael Koncz on Saturday it was determined that the Filipino boxing legend will fight again on April 12 against either new WBO light-welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov or rematch American Timothy Bradley.
In an interview the Ls Vegas Review Journal Arum said: “It’ll either be (Ruslan) Provodnikov or (Timothy) Bradley,” Arum said. “We’ll let Manny decide, we’ll get a deal made with whoever he chooses and hopefully make the announcement in a week.
“What I can definitely tell you is Manny is fighting on April 12, and he’s definitely fighting at the MGM.”
Pacquiao dropped a controversial 12 round split decision to Bradley two years ago and Provodnikov has provided his services as a sparring partner to Pac Man in the past so he knows both boxers.
“It’s up to Manny,” added Arum, “If Manny decides to fight Provodnikov, then we can try and make a Bradley-Marquez matchup,” Arum said. “But let’s see what happens with Manny first.”
If Pacquiao chooses to face Provodnikov, Arum could match Bradley vs Marquez in a rematch.
