Butler Vs Kareem Moved To April 20

Paul Butler’s Commonwealth Super-Flyweight challenge against Yaqub Karem will now take place on Saturday 20th April at Wembley Arena in London.


The card will be headlined by WBO Light-Heavyweight Champion Nathan Cleverly defending his title against mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi.


British champ Butler was scheduled to face Kareem on Friday 12th April at the Liverpool Olympia, but although Butler and fellow Ellesmere Port talent Matt Fagan worked hard to sell their tickets allocation of tickets for the venue, the remaining boxers’ ticket sales were extremely disappointing which resulted in the show being cancelled.


Butler will now focus on becoming a double champion on a quality-packed show that sees all-action Cleverly headline with the fifth defence of his title and puts his unbeaten record against mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi exciting and controversial heavyweight Dereck Chisora returns to the ring in a ten-round contest; plus many more. Unbeaten prospect Fagan will also feature on the card in four-round contest.
