Campillo Tko's 'Top Dog', Dirrell Returns Victorious

Former WBA light heavyweight champ Gabriel “Chico Guapo” Campillo, 24-6-1-(11) scored a fifth round stoppage win over the previously undefeated Thomas “Top Dog” Williams Jr.,17-1-(12) at the Little Creek Casino in Shelton, Washington on Friday.

The IBF light heavyweight title eliminator was stopped after round five due to a cut over the left eye of Williams.

On the undercard and taking part in his first fight in nearly two years former super middleweight world title challenger Andre Dirrell, 21-1-(14), scored a workmanlike fifth round tko win over Vladine “Mr. Providence” Biosse. The fight was aborted when the referee decided he had seen Biosse take enough punishment. Time of the stoppage was 2:46.

Also at super middleweight Immanuwel Aleem stayed unbeaten to record his 10th win in as many fights but was made work all the way by Juan Carlos Rojas, 6-7-1-(4). Just as it looked as though Rojas was going to hear the final bell Aleem landed a right hand in the sixth to wobble and prompt the referee to step in after 2:45.
