Cano decisions Pintor

light welterweight Ivan “Macanon” Cano (22-3, 15 KOs) won a 10 round unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Mauricio “El Trompas” Pintor (17-1-1, 11 KOs), at the Auditorio Plaza Condesa in Mexico City on Friday.

Cano made a positive start by decking Pintor, the nephew of former world champ Lupe Pinto, in opening round.

Pintor had a point deducted in round three for hitting on the break and in round six he hit Cano with a rabbit punch forcing him to take five minutes to recover, though no point was deducted. The win gave Cano both the vacant WBO and WBC Youth jr. welterweight titles.
