Cotto Stops Perez in Seven


lightweight Abner Cotto scored a seventh round tko win over Sergio “El Serenito” Perez at the Coliseo Roger Mendoza in Caguas, Puerto Rico on Saturday night.

 

Cotto floored Perez in the opening round and controlled the action throughout until Perez retired on his stool between rounds six and seven.

 

On the undercard bantamweight world title contender Cesar Seda Jr. took out former world title challenger Lorenzo Trejo inside two rounds. Seda floored Trejo three times in round one and again round two before the fight was stopped.

 

Jose “Wonder Boy” Lopez won the battle of the unbeaten fighter when he out-pointed Eric Gotoy over four rounds. The scores were 40-34 on all three judges cards. Lopez floored Gotoy in rounds one and four.
