Lucas Matthysse’s trainer Luis Dionisio Barrera, better known as the “Cuty” is burning the midnight oil so he can study world champion boxer Danny Garcia.
Barrera stressed it is his job to study Danny Garcia, to formulate a winning strategy, explaining:
“Lucas respects Garcia, being aware of the great boxer he is. I’m in charge of studying Garcia, to see what his weak points are, so I can help in this battle.”
Matthysse (34-2-0-, 32 KO’s), is the current WBC light welterweight interim champion. On September 14th he has the chance to become the supreme champion of the division, when he faces WBC champion Danny Garcia.
Barrera also commented: “I trust that Lucas will win this fight. I know him, I know how he trains and feels boxing. He’s currently working on his speed and stamina.
“This fight against Garcia will be different. Garcia is a very dangerous rival with a lethal cross and uppercuts, but he will be no match for Lucas. On September 14th he’ll be the supreme super lightweight champion!”
