Heavyweight contender David Price has inked a promotional deal with German based Sauerland Event according to the promoters Twitter account.
"Delighted and proud to announce @DavidPrice_1 joins #teamsauerland on a long term deal. Target: next UK Heavyweight Champion of the World"
This may come as a surprise to fight fans who would have expected the free agent Price to sign with British powerhouse Matchroom Sport. Sauerland have a number of Heavyweights at the moment and are proving to be one of the biggest promoters in Europe. It could well be a wise move by the Liverpool man who is trained by Adam Booth. Booth has dealt with the Sauerland brothers for a number of years now and may well have helped broker the deal.
