After more than a year out of the ring former world title challenger Andre ‘The Matrix’ Dirrell returned to totally outclass the more aggressive but limited Michael Gbenga over 10 rounds at the McAllen Convention Center in McAllen, Texas on Saturday.
Dirrell floored Gbenga in round nine on his way to a near shutout 100-87 twice and 100-88 points win in a light heavyweight bout. Gbenga was deducted a point for a low blow in round five
On the same card world rated lightweight Jose Felix Jr won a 10 round unanimous decision win over Gerardo Robles. Felix outboxed the aggressive Robles to record a 98-91, 97-92 and 96-93 win. Felix was deducted a point for a low blow in round seven.
At Lightweight Hardy Peredes scored an impressive second round knockout win over Rafael Reyes A body shot did the damage on the 3:00 mark.
Unbeaten lightweight Ivan Najera out Larry Yanez 0.13 of the sixth round.
Heavyweight Juan Guajardo scored a four round unanimous decision over Joe Duron. The scores were 39-37 on all three cards.
In a Lightweight bout David Rios won a hard fought four round unanimous decision over Noe Santamaria by scores of 40-36 and 39-37,twice.
