Duran Fights Again At The Age Of 62

At the grand old age of 62 Roberto Duran will step into the last time on September 7 when he takes on old Rival Jorge Castro in a three round exhibition bout at the famous Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina.


The bout, which will be the third between the two great rivals, is reportedly a farewell to Castro, who is considered a boxing icon in Argentina.


Their first bout was in February 1997 was won by Castro via 10 round decision. The second fight, in June 1997, was won by Duran via decision over 10 rounds


The event will be promoted by Mario Margossian and will be headlined by former world title challenger Javier “The Beast” Maciel against Alejandro “El Flaco” Falliga and IBF female super flyweight champion Deborah “The Gurisa” Dionicius against Olga “La Monita” Julio


Duran and Castro have a combined age of 107 and between them boast a combined record of 233 wins, 27 defeats, 3 draws and 160 ko’s.
