The main event boxers taking part in the big title showdown at Madison Square in New York on Saturday took part in the final media session Thursday.
Below is what the boxers had to say about their respective match ups
Gennady Golovkin: This is a great fight us, for him and for me. Thank you everybody.
Gabriel Rosado: I turned down my #1 spot at 154 against ‘K-9′ because greater risk, bigger reward, and I’m just extremely excited about this fight. I came up the hard way. Nothing was given to me, nothing was handed to me. I had to learn on the job fighting guys with great amateur backgrounds and I was just learning. But you learn from adversity. Adversity is going to make you or break you and it made me. I’m extremely confident that I’ll be victorious on the 19th. I trained extremely hard and I know this guy has the will to win and so do.”
Mikey Garcia: I feel very excited for the opportunity that’s in front of me. Everyone aspires to become world champion and this day is here now. I feel that we did all the work in the gym. I feel very confident in my abilities. We have a tough task in front of us, but I have everything here to win.”
Orlando Salido: “We’ve always wanted to fight the best and that’ why I’ve come here. I know I have a very difficult fight in front of me, but I’m very prepared…this fight is going to be a war in the ring.
Rocky Martinez: I prepared myself very well for this fight. I had a great camp…I’m 100% ready for this fight.
Juan Carlos Burgos: All I want to do is take that belt back home where it really belongs…I want to be the first world champion Mexico will have in 2013.
