World ranked middleweight Jarrod Fletcher has announced that British rival Martin Murray has pulled out of their February 1 WBA interim title fight in Monte Carlo.
Fletcher made the announcement on his Facebook page, stating: “I’m a little disappointed but there is no point in getting down. I’m still fighting which is the main thing. I just have to focus on my preparation which is going well. Just over 3 weeks to go until fight time. It doesn’t matter who I fight, I’m focused and ready for this!”
It now looks as though Fletcher will fight for the vacant WBA interim middleweight title against an as yet unnamed opponent as current interim champ Murray has not defended the crown since stopping Jorge Navarro inside six rounds on November 24,2012.
