IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch is close to a rematch with Danish rival Mikkel Kessler.
The obvious venue for a rematch would be in Denmark where Kessler is a national hero but reports suggest the O2 Arena in London is a possible alternative.
Froch’s promoter Eddie Hearn said the Kessler rematch is close a also a return with American Andre Ward, the only two men to have beaten them: “Talks are well advanced for the Kessler fight and Ward, has also been saying a lot about fighting Carl again.”
“I understand that the O2 Arena in London is favourite to host the Froch-Kessler fight with the Manchester Arena also in the reckoning.
“Froch and Kessler is a stand-out fight to make because the fans and both boxers want it.
“We are very close to doing the deal. It looks like the fight may be in late spring and everyone will be delighted once it is sorted out.
