Tyson Fury has promised to ‘seriously knock out David Haye’ If the pair face each other in the ring on September 28. It is widely thought that the British grudge match of the year will take place in Manchester on the aforementioned date, though no official announcement has been made.
Speaking to the Ringside Toe 2 Toe podcast, Fury said: "Since I turned professional my goal was to beat David Haye and considering I’m on that level now the fight can maybe be made, then I’d like to go in there and showcase my skills.
"You’ve got to give it to him, he’s very fast, he’s an explosive puncher and a former world champion, so it’s going to look better when I knock him out."
Speaking about facing Haye when the fight is officially announced, Fury added: "I tell you what’s going to happen. I’m seriously going to knock David Haye out..
"People have heard this talk before, but I don’t say things. Like I said to Steve Cunningham, I’m going to knock you spark out, you’re a cruiserweight. Dave Haye is only a cruiserweight. I’m going to knock him dead spark out. Not even a contest.
"He might jab or try and do slick movements with the head, but when someone is bulling at you, 100mph, throwing hundreds of punches. An average heavyweight throws 30-odd punches in a round. I throw 60-odd. I’m doubling any heavyweight.
"Work-rate is the key, heart and determination, fitness and stamina. If you keep knocking a stone with a hammer it’s going to break. That’s what’s going to happen to David Haye. He’s going to break."
