George And Lopez Battle To A Draw

Don “Da Bomb” George, 24-3-2-(21), David “The Destroyer” Lopez, 41-14-(23), battled to a 10 round draw at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois on Friday.

George looked as though he edged a very tight middleweight bout but the three judges posted scores of 97-94 for Lopez, 96-94 for George and an even 95-95.

On the same card former IBF welterweight champ Kermit Cintron and local fighter Adrian Granados also battled to a 10 round draw. Cintron was the more powerful of the two while Granados used his boxing skills even things up. After 10 rounds the scores were 96-94 for Granados, 97-95 for Cintron and an even 95-95.

In a featherweight bout unbeaten featherweight Hairon “El Maja” Socarras floored Sergio Montes de Oca in round one before cruising to a 40-35 on all the judges cards.
