“It has been work in progress for Martin. I am very proud of the job Hatton Promotions have done with him.
“I think that it is a credit to Hatton Promotions for making such fights for him. We have come a long way in a short space of time.”
Quigg’s first title defence will take place early next year with his eventual targets the 122lb division’s superstars Nonito Donaire, Abner Mares and Guillermo Rigondeaux, the WBA regular champion.
Hatton added: “Of course, my result was a bitter disappointment but when I watched a DVD of Scott’s performance I was soon smiling.
“Rendall has been one of the flag bearers of British boxing and an exceptional professional who I have enjoyed promoting and being around.
“But Scott was on another level at the weekend and there are so many big money fights ahead.
“Hatton Promotions is going strong and in Martin and Scott we have two fighters who will soon be packing out arenas.”
