Recently retired former junior-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is planning on becoming a trainer.
The Hitman, 32, officially hung up his gloves in July but the allure of the gymnasium is still strong and he is considering applying to the BBBofC for his trainer’s licence.
The Englishman has been staging boxing shows under his Hatton Promotions banner since 2009 and was recently voted European Promoter of the year by the EBU.
“I’d like to be a trainer,” he told the Manchester Evening News.
“I’ve got Hatton Promotions and a great staff working for me.
“Where we’ve come from as a promotional company is a credit to me and the people who work for me.
“I want to bring fighters through and champions through.”
