Hernandez gets past Cardoza

Adrian Hernandez gained a hard fought but justified 12 round unanimous points decision over Yader Cardoza to make a second straight defense of his WBC light flyweight world title.

Hernandez (27-2-1, 16 KOs), whose left eye was badly swollen, managed to keep off game challenger Cardoza (15-5, 5 KOs) in an entertaining and brisk battle in front of a large crowd at the Auditorio Agustin Millan in Toluca, Mexico

On the undercard Ava Knight scored a pedestrian 10 round decision against the slightly overmatched Linda “Muñeca” Soto.

Knight, a former two time world champion at flyweight improves to 11-1-3, 5 KOs whilst Soto drops to 5-2, 3 KOs with the defeat.
