Former world heavyweight champion Larry Holmes was back home Thursday after being hospitalized on Tuesday suffering from high blood sugar levels.
Speaking to lehighvalleylive.com, Holmes, 63, said: “My blood sugar popped up on me,” said Holmes, 63. “I’m all right now. I feel good. I never had anything like this happen before, but it runs in my family.”
Holmes, who was world heavyweight champion from 1978 until 1985, fell ill on Monday after feeling light headed and drowsy before being admitted on Tuesday. Holmes said confirmed he will be fine as long as he follows doctors orders.
“I have to lose some weight and eat the right foods,” Holmes said. “I’ll take my medication and watch my sugar level and I’ll be good.”
