Unbeaten middleweight prospect J’Leon Love (16-0, 8ko’s) has tested positive for the banned substance Hydrochlorothiazide, a well known diuretic, according to an announcement by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, reports the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Love, who beat Gabriel Rosado in a controversial 10 round decision for the NABF middleweight crown on the recent May 4 Mayweather-Guerrero card, will be suspended until he can face a disciplinary hearing.
This is a major blow for not only Love but also his promoters, Mayweather Promotions, as co-founder Floyd Mayweather Jr has been vociferous in his demands for boxing to be clean of performance enhancing drugs.
Matt Garretson a novice light heavyweight who also appeared on the show at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, has tested positive for Furosemide. Garretson, was stopped in the 4th round by Lanell Bellows.
