Klitschko Takes Out Pianeta In 6


Wladimir Klitschko retained his IBF/WBA/WBO and IBO heavyweight titles In Mannheim, Germany on Saturday night with a dominating display of boxing against Italian challenger Francesco Pianeta.

 

Klitschko decked his opponent in rounds four and five before the referee stepped in to stop the fight after 2.35 of the sixth round

 

Dr. Steelhammer, is now set to fight WBA ‘regular’ champion, Alexander Povetkin from Russia, in a mandatory title defence .

 

Before the Klitschko bout,however, Povetkin has a voluntary title defense against Poland’s Andrzej Wawrzyk on May 17 at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall.

 

According to WBA rules, the Klitschko-Povetkin bout must take place by the end of August.

 

Klitschko’s improves his record to 60-3-(52), Pianeta falls to 28-1.
