Maloney Brothers Headline Punches At The Park

Australian promoter Lynden Hosking announced his seventh installment of Punches

at the Park, scheduled for February 24 at the St Kilda City Hall in Melbourne, Australia.

Headlining the event is 2 of Australia’s hottest prospects in the Maloney Brothers.

The twins, Andrew (Super Flyweight) & Jason (Bantamweight) are both 15 fights

undefeated and both top 15 world rated.

Jason is rated WBA # 9, WBO # 5, IBF # 12 while the WBC has him at # 20 in their world

rankings. He is the current WBA Oceania champion and is scheduled to face Immanuel

Naidjala (23-4-1) for the vacant Commonwealth title. Naidjala a former world title

contender hasn’t been stopped in his 28-fight career to date, and will prove to be Jason’s

toughest test to date.

Andrew Maloney is rated WBA # 6 & # 10 with the IBF and current WBA Oceania and

Commonwealth champion. He too will have his work cut out for him as he is scheduled to

take on former world youth champion in Filipino Rene Dacquel (20-6-1) who is ranked # 5

in the world with the IBF. The fight will be a defense of his Oceania title and also for the

WBC aligned OPBF regional title. Dacquel also hasn’t been stopped in his 27-fight career

and is no stranger when it comes to travelling to his opponent’s backyard. Last year he

travelled to Japan 3 times for 3 wins including an impressive performance beating Go Onaga 27-2.

While the fans are in for 2 great match ups with the Main and Sub main event, the under

card is stacked with 6 more fights including 4 more undefeated young prospects.

Promoter Lynden Hosking said he was pleased with the line up for his first event in 2018.

‘The Maloney brothers are great to work with and both have a big year ahead of them as

they move towards world title contention. Both brothers have tough durable opponents

who will make them work for the win in exciting fights. This is our 7th installment of Punches

at the Park and the events are gaining in momentum and selling out. The undercard will keep the fans entertained with 3x6 & 3x4 round fights, in all it will be a great night of boxing
