Marquez Signs 4 Fight Deal With Golden Boy

Former world champion, Rafael Marquez, has signed a four fight agreement with Golden Boy Promotions, CEO Richard Scheafer has announced.

Márquez, (41-8, 37 KO’s), is seeking another world title shot which is why he will be following the title defence of current WBC super bantamweight champion Victor Terrazas and his challenger Leo Santa Cruz.

Marquez will return to the ring to face Efrain Esquivas, (16-2-1, 9 KO’s), at Fantasy Springs, in Indio, California on September 6.

“We signed Rafael Marquez because he’s a very important boxer in Mexico. He was a very popular champion and he still has much to do in boxing” Schaefer said.

Rafael has returned to the Gilberto Roman gym, where he’s once again being trained by Maestro Nacho Berinstein.
