Former WBA interim super middleweight Anthony Mundine has announced that he will finally get his wish and fight former multi weight world champion Shane Mosley in what he describes as a ‘Huge and defining moment’.
The controversial 38 year-old from Sydney, Australia, made the announcement via his facebook page on Wednesday(Aug 14).
"THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER! I will be fighting Sugar Shane Mosley at 154p. Lets go! Sugar Shane Mosley Signed & Deal DONE! more details to follow" he wrote on Facebook.
"this is goin to be huge and a defining moment. I feel blessed".
According to reports the fight will take place in Sydney, Australia some time in October. Mundine,44-5-(26), has not fought since being defeated by bitter Australian rival Daniel Geale on points back in January this year.
Mosley, 47-8-1-(39). last fought on May 18, out-pointing Pablo Cesar Cano over 12 rounds to claim the vacant WBC International welterweight title. If the fight does happen in Sydney, it will be only the second time in 57 fights Mosley has fought outside the US.
