Lamont Peterson will finally defend his IBF light-welterweight title for the first time, more than a year after taking the belt from Amir Khan.
Peterson, 30-1-1-(15), will make his first title defence against No.4 challenger Kendall Holt at the DC Amory in Washington on February 22.
Peterson won the WBA and IBF crowns from Khan in December 2011 but was stripped of the WBA title after testing positive for synthetic testosterone. Peterson was to have defended the IBF title against No.1 contender Zab Judah but Judah chose to face WBC and WBA 140lbs champ Danny Garcia on February 9 leaving the way clear for Holt.
