By Tri Nguyen: Antonio Pitalua knocked out Joe Rivera in the 5th round of their Welterweight fight at the Auditorium Teopanzolco in Cuernavaca, Mexicoon September 4.
Pitalua (49-4, 43 KOs) caught Rivera (20-9, 14KOs) with a right cross to end the bout. This is Pitalua’s third win since being stopped by Edwin Valero in April 2009.
Junior Middleweight Omar Vasquez (14-18-4, 7 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Luis Rodriguez (26-5-1, 17 KOs) in a mild upset.
