British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price could face Dereck Chisora next should he,as expected, defeat Matt Skelton in his latest title defence in Liverpool tonight(Nov 30).
Speaking about the possibility of facing Chisora, Price said: "It would be a win-win fight because it would be a step up in class for me and the chance to win the British Lonsdale belt outright.
"Chisora is the logical next opponent to defend my British title against because I think Dereck would take the fight at British level," added Price.
"David Haye is a former world champion who only wants one fight, which we know about (Vitali Klitschko) and Dereck Chisora would fight for the British title, I believe.
"It’s the logical next step, without a doubt, but it’s a fight that would have to be under the British Boxing Board of Control regulations because I want to win that Lonsdale belt for keeps."
However, before Price can even think about facing Chisora he must first defeat Skelton and Chisora will have to go through the process of proving to the British Boxing Board of Control that he is a fit and proper person to hold a BBBOC licence again. Chisora had his licence withdrawn after his disgraceful behaviour before and after losing to Vitali Klitschko earlier this year.
